Obituary for William Dixon

William “Ricky “Dixon of Hagerstown, MD, also known as “OG” passed away on February 16,
2021 at Meritus Medical Center. Born on November 13, 1971 in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son
of Betty Jean Mclean and the late John Mclean. 

William attended school in Fayetteville, NC and graduated from Woodbridge High School in
Woodbridge, VA. Ricky had a love for music and his family. Ricky also pursued a degree in audio
production at Full Sail University.  As a member of and a great asset to the organization, Growth
& Development, William contributed his time and assistance to feeding the community and
providing clothes and food to the homeless and various shelters.  He enjoyed serving others and
making people laugh. He loved children - to watch him interact with them was heartwarming. 
William enjoyed playing basketball and watching his favorite professional basketball team, the
Charlotte Hornets, and football team, the Dallas Cowboys.  

William is survived by his wife, Carol "Cece" Dixon of Hagerstown, MD; stepdaughter, Dede
Colbert (his princess) of Norfolk, VA; three stepsons, Shaheem Jones of Wytheville, VA, Gerald
Thomas of Hagerstown, MD and D’Montae Noble of Arlington, VA; grandsons, Brendan Jones
and Kobe Jones (expected birth on May 10, 2021) of Wytheville, VA; mother, Betty Jean
Mclean of Fayetteville, NC; three brothers, John Wilton Mclean (Joann), Ortega Lamar Mclean,
Travis Joe Mclean (Shanee) all of Woodbrige VA; mother-in-law, Joan Colbert of Falls Church,
VA; sister-in-law, Karen La Torre (Ramon) of Bealeton, VA; brothers-in-law, Michael Colbert
of Culpeper, VA, Donald Williams of Alexandria, VA, Hugh Williams (Cassandra) of Dale City,
VA, Drew Williams (Maricela) of Woodbridge, VA, and aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins,
friends and his extended family Growth and Development.

William was preceded in death by his father, John Mclean, grandparents, William and Elsie
Dixon, aunt, Alisha Dixon, and brother-in-law, Wade Williams.
